In recent years, a great deal of work has been devoted to the development of thermoresponsive polymers that can be made into new types of smart materials. In this paper, a branched polymer, HTPB-g-(PNIPAM/PEG), with polyolefin chain segments as the backbone and having polyethylene glycol (PEG) and poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) as side chains was synthesized by ATRP and click reactions using N3-HTPB-Br as the macroinitiator. This initiator was designed and synthesized using hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) as the substrate. The temperature-responsive behavior of the branched polymer was investigated. The lower critical solution temperature (LCST) of the branched polymer was determined by ultraviolet and visible spectrophotometry (UV-vis) and was found to be 35.2 °C. The relationship between the diameter size of micelles and temperature was determined by dynamic light scattering (DLS). It was found that the diameter size changed at 36 °C, which was nearly consistent with the result obtained by UV-vis. The results of the study indicate that HTPB-g-(PNIPAM/PEG) is a temperature-responsive polymer. At room temperature, the polymer can self-assemble into composite micelles, with the main chain as the core and the branched chain as the shell. When the temperature was increased beyond LCST, the polyolefin main chain along with the PNIPAM branched chain assembled to form the nucleus, and the PEG branched chain constituted the shell.

Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of combining hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) with conventional pharmacological interventions in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus concurrent with sudden deafness. Methods: A cohort of 96 patients diagnosed with sudden deafness was enrolled and subsequently randomized into 2 groups: a treatment group (n = 50) and a control group (n = 46). The control group received standard conventional treatment aimed at enhancing microcirculation and nutritional support for nerves, while the treatment group underwent conventional symptomatic treatment coupled with HBOT. The evaluation encompassed the monitoring of blood glucose and blood lipid levels, clinical efficacy, and absolute hearing threshold improvement in both groups. Results: Following the intervention, noteworthy reductions in blood glucose and blood lipid levels were observed in both groups compared to their respective pretreatment values. Furthermore, posttreatment values in the treatment group exhibited a statistically significant decrease in comparison to those in the control group (P < .05). On assessing clinical efficacy posttreatment, the treatment group demonstrated a significantly higher efficacy than the control group (P < .05). In addition, the absolute hearing thresholds in both groups exhibited a significant decrease posttreatment compared to baseline values. Notably, the treatment group displayed a statistically significant reduction in absolute hearing thresholds compared to the control group posttreatment (P < .05). Conclusion: The combined therapeutic approach utilizing hyperbaric oxygen exhibits effectiveness in mitigating auditory impairment among individuals manifesting sudden deafness concomitant with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Furthermore, this treatment approach is associated with a concurrent reduction in blood glucose and blood lipid levels.

BACKGROUND: Social anxiety among postoperative breast cancer patients is a prevalent concern, with its intensity fluctuating throughout the course of treatment. The study aims to describe the trajectory of social anxiety in postoperative breast cancer patients, explore the influencing factors, and provide theoretical support for the construction of future intervention programs. METHODS: This study was conducted from June 2022 to January 2023, encompassing 213 breast cancer patients from three first-class hospitals in China. Data collection occurred at four distinct time points. A growth mixture model was employed to identify latent categories representing the trajectories of social anxiety changes among patients. A multiple regression analysis was utilized to explore predictive factors associated with different latent trajectory categories. RESULTS: The trajectory of social anxiety changes in postoperative breast cancer patients includes five potential categories: maintaining mild social anxiety group, changing from mild to moderate social anxiety group, maintaining moderate social anxiety group, changing from moderate to severe social anxiety group, and maintaining severe social anxiety group. Cluster analysis results indicated three types: positive, negative, and low. Logistic regression analysis revealed that younger age, spouses concerned about postoperative appearance, chemotherapy with taxol-based drugs, opting for modified radical surgery or radical mastectomy surgical approaches, and breast cancer patients with negative rumination were factors that influenced patients' social anxiety (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: The trajectory of social anxiety in postoperative breast cancer patients comprises five potential categories. In clinical practice, it is essential to strengthen the management of high-risk populations susceptible to experiencing social anxiety emotions, including younger age, spouses concerned about postoperative appearance, chemotherapy with taxol-based drugs, opting for modified radical surgery or radical mastectomy surgical approaches, and breast cancer patients with negative rumination.

HEADINGS ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata (RRP), a staple in traditional Chinese medicine, is derived from Rehmannia glutinosa Libosch and is renowned for its wound-healing properties. Despite its clinical prevalence, the molecular mechanisms underlying RRP's wound-healing effects have not been fully elucidated. AIM OF THE STUDY: This research endeavored to delineate the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the beneficial effects of RRP on wound healing, utilizing a zebrafish model. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Zebrafish larvae at 3 days post-fertilization were amputated at the fin and subsequently treated with RRP. The pro-wound healing and regenerative effects of RRP were evaluated through morphological analysis, assessment of cell proliferation and apoptosis, Additionally, mechanistic insights were gained through a comprehensive approach encompassing network pharmacology analysis, cell tracing, RNA-sequencing, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, and pharmacological inhibition. RESULTS: Our findings demonstrate that RRP significantly accelerates caudal fin regeneration in zebrafish following injury by suppressing cell apoptosis, promoting cell proliferation, and upregulating the expression of regenerative-related genes. Furthermore, RRP triggers autophagy signals during the regenerative process, which is attenuated by the autophagy inhibitor chloroquine (CQ). Notably, the administration of RRP enhances the expression of ahr1 and ahr2 in the regenerating fin. Genetic knockout of ahr1a, ahr1b, or ahr2 using CRISPR/Cas9, or pharmacological blockade of AHR signals with the antagonist CH-223191, diminishes the regenerative potential of RRP. Remarkably, zebrafish lacking ahr2 completely lose their fin regeneration ability. Additionally, inhibition of AHR signaling suppresses autophagy signaling during fin regeneration. CONCLUSIONS: This study uncovers that RRP stimulates fin regeneration in zebrafish by inducing AHR signals and, at least partially, activating the autophagy process. These findings provide novel insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying the wound-healing effects of RRP and may pave the way for the development of novel therapeutic strategies.

BACKGROUND: Growth hormone (GH) has been proposed as an adjunct in in vitro fertilization (IVF)/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) cycles, especially in women with poor ovarian response. However, it is unclear whether GH supplementation is effective in women with poor embryonic development in the previous IVF cycle. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of GH supplementation in IVF/ICSI cycles in women with poor embryonic development in the previous cycle. METHODS: This is a retrospective cohort study from a public fertility center in China, in which we performed propensity score-matching (PSM) for female age and AFC in a ratio of 1:1. We compared the cumulative live birth rate per started cycle, as well as a series of secondary outcomes. We included 3,043 women with poor embryonic development in the previous IVF/ICSI cycle, of which 1,326 had GH as adjuvant therapy and 1,717 had not. After PSM, there were 694 women in each group. RESULTS: After PSM, multivariate analyses showed the cumulative live birth rate to be significantly higher in the GH group than the control group [N = 694, 34.7% vs. N = 694, 27.5%, risk ratio (RR): 1.4 (95%CI: 1.1-1.8)]. Endometrial thickness, number of oocytes retrieved, number of embryos available, and number of good-quality embryos were significantly higher in the GH group compared to controls. Pregnancy outcomes in terms of birth weight, gestational age, fetal sex, preterm birth rate, and type of delivery were comparable. When we evaluated the impact of GH on different categories of female age, the observed benefit in the GH group did not appear to be significant. When we assessed the effect of GH in different AFC categories, the effect of GH was strongest in women with an AFC5-6 (32.2% versus 19.5%; RR 2.0; 95% CI 1.2-3.3). CONCLUSIONS: Women with poor embryonic quality in the previous IVF/ICSI cycles have higher rates of cumulative live birth with GH supplementation.

Background: The c-met proto-oncogene (MET) serves as a significant primary oncogenic driver in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and has the potential to fuse with other genes, such as KIF5B, although it occurs infrequently. Only a limited number of reported cases have examined the clinical efficacy of crizotinib in patients with KIF5B-MET gene fusion, with no known data regarding acquired resistance to crizotinib and its potential mechanisms. In this report, we present the clinical progression of a female patient diagnosed with NSCLC and harboring a KIF5B-MET gene fusion. Case description: The patient initially exhibited partial response to first-line crizotinib treatment, albeit for a short duration and with limited efficacy. Subsequent disease progression revealed the emergence of a secondary MET mutation, specifically MET Y1230H, leading to acquired resistance to crizotinib. Conclusion: The reporting of this case is imperative for informing clinical practice, given the uncommon occurrence of NSCLC with MET fusion, displaying responsiveness to MET tyrosine kinase inhibitor therapy, as well as the emergence of the secondary Y1230H alteration as a potential resistance mechanism.

Background: Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic and progressive interstitial lung disease with a high mortality rate and limited treatment efficacy. Nintedanib, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor, is clinically used to treat pulmonary fibrosis. At present, only nintedanib is on the market for the treatment of pulmonary fibrosis. Pazopanib is a drug for the treatment of renal cell carcinoma and advanced soft tissue sarcoma. Methods: In this study, we explored whether pazopanib can attenuate bleomycin (BLM)-induced pulmonary fibrosis and explored its antifibrotic mechanism. In vivo and in vitro investigations were carried out to investigate the efficacy and mechanism of action of pazopanib in pulmonary fibrosis. Results: In vivo experiments showed that pazopanib can alleviate pulmonary fibrosis caused by BLM, reduce the degree of collagen deposition and improve lung function. In vitro experiments showed that pazopanib suppressed transforming growth factor-ß1 (TGF-ß1)-induced myofibroblast activation and promoted apoptosis and autophagy in myofibroblasts. Further mechanistic studies demonstrated that pazopanib inhibited the TGF-ß1/Smad and non-Smad signaling pathways during fibroblast activation. Conclusions: In conclusion, pazopanib attenuated BLM-induced pulmonary fibrosis by suppressing the TGF-ß1 signaling pathway. Pazopanib inhibits myofibroblast activation, migration, autophagy, apoptosis, and extracellular matrix (ECM) buildup by downregulating the TGF-ß1/Smad signal route and the TGF-ß1/non-Smad signal pathway. It has the same target as nintedanib and is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor.

The corrosion resistance properties of a new type of environmentally-friendly organic inhibitor containing amino ketone molecules are presented in this paper. To evaluate the prevention effect of the inhibitor on corrosion of reinforcement, the electrochemical characteristics of steels in the simulated concrete pore solution (SPS) were investigated under varied conditions of the relevant parameters, including concentrations of the inhibitor and NaCl, pH value, and temperature. The inhibition efficiency of the material was characterized through electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), potentiodynamic polarization, and the weight loss of steels. The results reveal a significant improvement in the corrosion resistance of steels with the inhibitor. A maximum resistance value of 89.07% was achieved at an inhibitor concentration of 4%. Moreover, the new organic inhibitor exhibited good corrosion protection capability for steels under different NaCl concentrations. Its inhibition efficiency was determined to be 65.62, 80.06, and 66.30% at NaCl concentrations of 2, 3.5 and 5%, respectively. On the other hand, it was found that an alkaline environment was favorable for an enhanced corrosion prevention effect, and an optimal pH value of 11.3 was observed in this work. Besides, the inhibition efficiencies at different temperatures showed a trend of 25 > 35 > 40 > 20 > 30 °C, with a maximum value of 81.32% at 25 °C. The above results suggest that the new organic material has high potential to be used as an eco-friendly and long-term durable inhibitor for steel corrosion prevention under complex conditions.

Background: Many studies showed disrupted tryptophan metabolism in patients with affective disorders. The aims of this study were to explore the differences in the metabolites of tryptophan pathway (TP) and the relationships between TP metabolites and clinical symptoms, therapeutic effect in patients with bipolar disorder with acute manic episode (BD-M), depressive episode (BD-D) and major depressive disorder (MDD). Methods: Patients with BD-M (n=52) and BD-D (n=39), MDD (n=48) and healthy controls (HCs, n=49) were enrolled. The serum neuroactive metabolites levels of the TP were measured by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. Hamilton Depression Scale-17 item (HAMD-17) and Young Mania Rating Scale (YMRS) were used to evaluate depressive and manic symptoms at baseline and after 8 weeks of antidepressants, mood stabilizers, some also received antipsychotic medication. Results: The levels of tryptophan (TRP) and kynurenic acid (KYNA) were significantly lower and the ratios of tryptophan/kynurenine (TRP/KYN), 5-hydroxytryptamine/tryptophan (5-HT/TRP), quinolinic acid/kynurenic acid (QUIN/KYNA) were higher in BD-M, BD-D, MDD vs. HC. The levels of QUIN and the ratios of QUIN/KYNA were higher in BD-M than in BD-D, MDD, and HCs. The 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5-HIAA) levels of patients with MDD were significantly higher than those in BD-M and BD-D. Binary logistic regression analysis showed the lower peripheral KYNA, the higher the QUIN level, and the higher the risk of BD-M; the lower peripheral KYNA and the higher KYN/TRP and 5-HT/TRP, the higher the risk of BD-D; and the lower the peripheral KYNA level and the higher the KYN/TRP and 5-HT/TRP, the higher the risk of MDD. Correlation analysis, showing a significant association between tryptophan metabolites and improvement of clinical symptoms, especially depression symptoms. Conclusions: Patients with affective disorders had abnormal tryptophan metabolism, which involved in 5-HT and kynurenine pathway (KP) sub-pathway. Tryptophan metabolites might be potential biomarkers for affective disorders and some metabolites have been associated with remission of depressive symptoms.

The restoration of ancient ceramics has attracted widespread attention as it can reveal the overall appearance of ancient ceramics as well as the original information and artistic charm of cultural relics. However, traditional manual restoration is constrained due to its time-consuming nature and susceptibility to damaging ancient ceramics. Herein, a three-dimensional (3D) printing technique was employed to accurately restore Chinese Yuan Dynasty Longquan celadon using hollow Al2O3 microsphere-modified 3D printing paste. The results show that the hollow Al2O3 microsphere content plays a vital role in the printability, physical properties, and firing performance of the modified 3D printing paste. The printed green bodies show no noticeable spacing or voids under moderate rheological conditions. The as-prepared ceramic body modified with 6 wt.% hollow Al2O3 microspheres and fired at 1280 °C exhibits optimal bending strength of 56.66 MPa and a relatively low density of 2.16 g∙cm-3, as well as a relatively uniform longitudinal elastic modulus and hardness along the interlayer. This 3D printing technique based on hollow Al2O3 microsphere-modified paste presents a promising pathway for achieving non-contact and damage-free restoration of cultural relics.

BACKGROUND: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer and a significant cause of cancer-related mortality globally. Resistance to chemotherapy, especially during CRC treatment, leads to reduced effectiveness of drugs and poor patient outcomes. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been implicated in various pathophysiological processes of tumor cells, including chemotherapy resistance, yet the roles of many lncRNAs in CRC remain unclear. AIM: To identify and analyze the lncRNAs involved in oxaliplatin resistance in CRC and to understand the underlying molecular mechanisms influencing this resistance. METHODS: Gene Expression Omnibus datasets GSE42387 and GSE30011 were reanalyzed to identify lncRNAs and mRNAs associated with oxaliplatin resistance. Various bioinformatics tools were employed to elucidate molecular mechanisms. The expression levels of lncRNAs and mRNAs were assessed via quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. Functional assays, including MTT, wound healing, and Transwell, were conducted to investigate the functional implications of lncRNA alterations. Interactions between lncRNAs and transcription factors were examined using RIP and luciferase reporter assays, while Western blotting was used to confirm downstream pathways. Additionally, a xenograft mouse model was utilized to study the in vivo effects of lncRNAs on chemotherapy resistance. RESULTS: LncRNA prion protein testis specific (PRNT) was found to be upregulated in oxaliplatin-resistant CRC cell lines and negatively correlated with homeodomain interacting protein kinase 2 (HIPK2) expression. PRNT was demonstrated to sponge transcription factor zinc finger protein 184 (ZNF184), which in turn could regulate HIPK2 expression. Altered expression of PRNT influenced CRC cell sensitivity to oxaliplatin, with overexpression leading to decreased sensitivity and decreased expression reducing resistance. Both RIP and luciferase reporter assays indicated that ZNF184 and HIPK2 are targets of PRNT. The PRNT/ZNF184/HIPK2 axis was implicated in promoting CRC progression and oxaliplatin resistance both in vitro and in vivo. CONCLUSION: The study concludes that PRNT is upregulated in oxaliplatin-resistant CRC cells and modulates the expression of HIPK2 by sponging ZNF184. This regulatory mechanism enhances CRC progression and resistance to oxaliplatin, positioning PRNT as a promising therapeutic target for CRC patients undergoing oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy.

Extinction selectivity determines the direction of macroevolution, especially during mass extinction; however, its driving mechanisms remain poorly understood. By investigating the physiological selectivity of marine animals during the Permian-Triassic mass extinction, we found that marine clades with lower O2-carrying capacity hemerythrin proteins and those relying on O2 diffusion experienced significantly greater extinction intensity and body-size reduction than those with higher O2-carrying capacity hemoglobin or hemocyanin proteins. Our findings suggest that animals with high O2-carrying capacity obtained the necessary O2 even under hypoxia and compensated for the increased energy requirements caused by ocean acidification, which enabled their survival during the Permian-Triassic mass extinction. Thus, high O2-carrying capacity may have been crucial for the transition from the Paleozoic to the Modern Evolutionary Fauna.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Anti-E alloantibody is the most common and important red blood cell (RBC) alloantibody during pregnancy. The study aimed to determine the correlation between RhE alloimmunization and human leukocyte antigen (HLA) allele polymorphism, as well as haplotype diversity, among pregnant individuals in the Chinese Han population. STUDY DESIGN AND METHODS: All individuals included in our study were RhE-negative pregnant women of Chinese Han ethnicity, confirmed through serological testing. Pregnancy could be the only potential stimulating factor in RBC alloimmunization. Given the serological testing, the participants were divided into anti-E (responders) and non-anti-E-producing group (non-responders). The class I and II classical HLA genotyping were determined using next-generation sequencing, and the HLA genotype and haplotype frequencies were compared between the responders and non-responders. RESULTS: In total, 76 responders and 94 non-responders were enrolled in this study. Comparison results showed that all HLA class I alleles had no difference between the two groups. For HLA class II phenotypes, responders had higher frequencies of HLA-DRB1*09:01, HLA-DQA1*03:02 and HLA-DQB1*03:03 phenotypes than non-responders, and the differences were statistically significant (pc < 0.05). In addition, the haplotype frequency of HLA-DRB1*09:01-DQA1*03:02-DQB1*03:03 in the RhE responders was significantly higher than in the non-responders (31.58% vs. 12.77%; odds ratio, 3.154; 95% confidence interval, 1.823-5.456; pc value, 1.25 × 10-3). CONCLUSION: Our findings indicated that HLA-DRB1*09:01, HLA-DQA1*03:02 and HLA-DQB1*03:03 might be susceptible alleles for RhE alloimmunization among Chinese Han pregnant females. These three susceptible alleles constituted the unique three-locus haplotype in the RhE responders and collaborated to RhE alloimmunization.

OBJECTIVE: To establish a method for twelve halobenzoquinones(HBQs) in drinking water by solid phase extraction-ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with electrospray-tandem mass spectrometry(SPE-UPLC-MS/MS). METHODS: The drinking water was acidified with formic acid and concentrated by Bond Elut Plexa solid phase extraction column. The sample solution was separated using Waters ACQUITY HSS T3 column(100 mm×2.1 mm, 1.8 µm) with gradient elution using methanol-water containing 0.1% formic acid as mobile phase. The target compouds were detected in negtive electrospray ionization(ESI~-) and multiple reaction monitoring. RESULTS: The concentration of twelve HBQs showed good linearity in the range 5.0-150.0 ng/mL, respectively, with the correlation coefficients greater than 0.999. The limits of detection(LOD) of twelve HBQs were lower than 2.0 ng/mL, and the limits of quantification(LOQ) for twelve HBQs were lower than 5.0 ng/mL, respectively. The recoveries of three levels in the matrix were 70.0%-84.0%. The matrix effffect was 0.08-0.64. CONCLUSION: The SPE-UPLC-MS/MS method has high sensitivity, good accuracy and fast analysis speed for the detection of halobenzoquinones in drinking water.

BACKGROUND: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a common cancer with increasing morbidity and mortality due to changes of social environment. AIM: To evaluate the significance of serum carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9) and tumor size changes pre- and post-neoadjuvant therapy (NAT). METHODS: This retrospective study was conducted at the Chongqing Key Laboratory of Translational Research for Cancer Metastasis and Individualized Treatment, Chongqing University Cancer Hospital. This study specifically assessed CA19-9 levels and tumor size before and after NAT. RESULTS: A total of 156 patients who completed NAT and subsequently underwent tumor resection were included in this study. The average age was 65.4 ± 10.6 years and 72 (46.2%) patients were female. Before survival analysis, we defined the post-NAT serum CA19-9 level/pre-NAT serum CA19-9 level as the CA19-9 ratio (CR). The patients were divided into three groups: CR < 0.5, CR > 0.5 and < 1 and CR > 1. With regard to tumor size measured by both computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, we defined the post-NAT tumor size/pre-NAT tumor size as the tumor size ratio (TR). The patients were then divided into three groups: TR < 0.5, TR > 0.5 and < 1 and TR > 1. Based on these groups divided according to CR and TR, we performed both overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) analyses. Log-rank tests showed that both OS and DFS were significantly different among the groups according to CR and TR (P < 0.05). CR and TR after NAT were associated with increased odds of achieving a complete or near-complete pathologic response. Moreover, CR (hazard ratio: 1.721, 95%CI: 1.373-3.762; P = 0.006), and TR (hazard ratio: 1.435, 95%CI: 1.275-4.363; P = 0.014) were identified as independent factors associated with OS. CONCLUSION: This study demonstrated that post-NAT serum CA19-9 level/pre-NAT serum CA19-9 level and post-NAT tumor size/pre-NAT tumor size were independent factors associated with OS in patients with PDAC who received NAT and subsequent surgical resection.

A composite solid chloride sensor consisting of two single sensors, i.e., Ag/AgCl working electrode and Mn/MnO2 reference electrode, was developed. The Ag/AgCl electrode was prepared by the anodic polarization method, while the Mn/MnO2 reference electrode was prepared using the powder compaction technique. Then, the electrochemical performances such as stability, reproducibility, and sensitivity of the composite and single sensors were investigated in a saturated Ca(OH)2 solution and mortar specimen. A current density of 0.5 mA/cm2 and polarization time of 2.5 h were the optimal preparation parameters of the Ag/AgCl selective electrode. The Ag/AgCl selective electrode showed a linear potential response with the logarithm of chloride ion content in solution and had good stability, reproducibility, and anti-polarization performances. In addition, the Mn/MnO2 electrode exhibited potential stability after being activated in an alkaline solution for 60 days. The composite sensor demonstrated exceptional sensitivity to the Cl- content, boasting a slope of approximately 51.1 mV/decade, and showcased excellent stability in both solution and mortar specimens. In every measurement, the time needed for the potential of a composite sensor to become stable was less than 30 s. The sensor enables non-destructive in situ monitoring of the chloride ion content in cement mortar, thus realizing early warning of deterioration of reinforcement and guaranteeing long service life of the structure.

This study demonstrates a novel use of the U-Net convolutional neural network (CNN) for modeling pixel-based electrostatic potential distributions in GaN metal-insulator-semiconductor high-electron mobility transistors (MIS-HEMTs) with various gate and source field plate designs and drain voltages. The pixel-based images of the potential distribution are successfully modeled from the developed U-Net CNN with an error of less than 1% error relative to a TCAD simulated reference of a 500-V electrostatic potential distribution in the AlGaN/GaN interface. Furthermore, the modeling time of potential distributions by U-Net takes about 80 ms. Therefore, the U-Net CNN is a promising approach to efficiently model the pixel-based distributions characteristics in GaN power devices.

Objective: Hypertriglyceridemic waist (HW), hypertriglyceridemic waist-to-height ratio (HWHtR), and waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) have been shown to be indicators of cardiometabolic risk factors. However, it is not clear which indicator is more suitable for children and adolescents. We aimed to investigate the relationship between HW, HWHtR, WHR, and cardiovascular risk factors clustering to determine the best screening tools for cardiometabolic risk in children and adolescents. Methods: This was a national cross-sectional study. Anthropometric and biochemical variables were assessed in approximately 70,000 participants aged 6-18 years from seven provinces in China. Demographics, physical activity, dietary intake, and family history of chronic diseases were obtained through questionnaires. ANOVA, χ 2 and logistic regression analysis was conducted. Results: A significant sex difference was observed for HWHtR and WHR, but not for HW phenotype. The risk of cardiometabolic health risk factor clustering with HW phenotype or the HWHtR phenotype was significantly higher than that with the non-HW or non-HWHtR phenotypes among children and adolescents (HW: OR = 12.22, 95% CI: 9.54-15.67; HWHtR: OR = 9.70, 95% CI: 6.93-13.58). Compared with the HW and HWHtR phenotypes, the association between risk of cardiometabolic health risk factors (CHRF) clustering and high WHR was much weaker and not significant (WHR: OR = 1.14, 95% CI: 0.97-1.34). Conclusion: Compared with HWHtR and WHR, the HW phenotype is a more convenient indicator withhigher applicability to screen children and adolescents for cardiovascular risk factors.
